Apologies - Linda Haysey
MINUTES OF THE MEETING
The minutes of the meeting held on 21st November 2005 were read and signed as correct.
MATTERS ARISING FROM THE MINUTES
Playground
The trees have been cut back and a Cypress near centre has been removed. Michael was not sure if any more were to be removed and will speak with Peter Musk. A quotation has been received to pollard trees near the pond and it was decided to proceed with the works.
Village Sign
A letter from Mr Brocklehurst was received regarding the height of the Village Sign, he thought it was too high. If it were lower youngsters could swing on it which could then cause problems. The base is to be built up which will reduce the length of the pole that is exposed. It was agreed ask the general consensus and discuss at the next meeting before making a decision.
Mrs Scott on behalf of Bayford School wrote with regard to the school sign to be fitted on the same pole as the Village sign. Jackie Fulcher, Rodney Callaby thought the additional sign unnecessary as Bayford School already has a large and significant sign in the Village. It was agreed to inform Mrs Scott that the sign could not be erected.
PLANNING APPLICATIONS/GRANTS/REFUSALS
Bayford Hall Farm – Application for accommodation block
Quarry - A proposal for a recycling shed about the size of a football pitch would be an eyesore on the landscape. It is seen as a ploy to change the conditions of use so that they can extend the time limit, the site is supposed to be winding down now, not investing to prolong the function. However the Council also feel they must be seen to promote recycling and would consider tying the building in as a temporary building to be removed when the quarry is finished on the site.

The village road sign on the approach from the station requires repair/replacement due to damage.

Fly Tipping
Becoming very problematic with a lot of building materials being left at the garages off Ashendene Road and white goods being left by Home Farm gates.
Litter Picking Day
George Rowley suggested another litter picking day to be organised after the success of last year’s event. Date selected St George’s Day 23rd April. George to arrange equipment etc.
Richard Golding’s advert placed on wrong notice board should not be on the Council’s board. Helen to remove it.
The meeting was closed at 9:15m. The Chairman thanked those present for attending.
